With the California Natural Grain Free family, your dog receives a range of protein sources with naturally occurring amino acids.
Founded on the idea that less is more, our formulas feature a core ingredient base so you can transition your dog’s formulas with ease.
Because our formulas are made with only a handful of ingredients and zero grain, the product nutrient levels remain steady across each formula. Carefully selected ingredients and consistent fat levels (11-12%) help ease sensitivities associated with diet transitions, so you can rotate your dog's proteins with confidence.
- Limited Ingredient Formulas
Each formula contains a dependable list of ingredients including protein as the first ingredient, healthy carbohydrate sources, sunflower oil and essential vitamins and minerals. - Consistent Fat Levels (11-12%)
A diet with consistent fat percentages can simplify the transition between protein sources. - High-Quality Protein
High-quality proteins from a single animal source are easily digestible and highly palatable for your dog. - Unique Carbohydrate Sources
A consistent list of carbohydrate ingredients such as lentils and peas is healthy for all dogs, particularly those with food sensitivities. - Grain Free
Removing grain from the diet can reduce the risk of food sensitivities.
Interested in Rotational Feeding? Get Started with California Natural Grain Free.
When changing to a new food, California Natural recommends allowing 7-10 days for the transition. To switch, slowly add more of the new food and less of the old food at each meal until only the new food is being fed. Once your dog has transitioned to the California Natural Grain Free family, you can rotate knowing that the formulas are designed for shorter transition periods, consistent with rotational feeding practices.
There are many ways to rotate your pets' proteins*. Many dog owners rotate week-to-week (for example: you could feed Salmon Meal & Peas on the first week of the month, Chicken Meal during the second, and Kangaroo & Red Lentils during the third) while others rotate monthly (for example: Lamb Meal in September, Chicken Meal in October, and Venison Meal in November). Many pet owners believe the most variety results from rotating across protein categories (Red Meat, Poultry and/or Fish). Discover the feeding practice that works best for your pet by exploring the variety of protein options in the California Natural Grain Free family of products.
*It's important to remember that not all dogs regularly change their diets, and that sudden differences in dietary moisture, fat, fiber and even total calories can result in possible digestive problems.
